A Tale of Two Match Factories

Families and individuals in Hampton, New Brunswick were hungry for a place to dine and interact with each other after the closing of a customer-favourite restaurant, Holly’s, in January. Luckily, they did not have to wait long. The Match Factory Restaurant and Match Stick Café opened in the Hampton Mall in June 2017 after a substantial renovation to the space formerly known as Holly’s.

The new restaurant and café were named paying homage to the town’s match factory at the foot of St. Andrews Street. It was owned by Gilford Flewelling of the G & G Flewelling Manufacturing Company. The factory and town heritage may now be gone; however, it's memory is alive in this unique and family-friendly restaurant that serves scrumptious fares everybody will enjoy.
